Taylors, Eayre and Smith are working in partnership with Jim Wheeler and the the Worcester Cathedral ringers developing composite clappers.
Andrew Higson commented:
“When we heard rumours that a wooden clapper had been put in Worcester Cathedral tenor, we were very interested. When we heard the results of the experiment we were impressed. Having now seen a wooden clapper and had discussions with Jim Wheeler and the rest of the Worcester clapper team, our first impression has been justified.
We had not thought of using wood, but sometimes the simplest solutions turn out to be the most successful!”
